Location: Morgantown, WV
Active Since: 2015
Genre: Americana / Roots Rock / Indie

Weary Space Wanderer is spreading improvisational, Appalachian-jam over the made-from-scratch material of singer-songwriter Kevin Hamric. Taking the stories built on an acoustic guitar and shaping them into mind-bending trips of Americana and roots-rock exploration, Weary Space Wanderer is nothing short of an eclectic ride into what modern mountain music can be.

Born and raised in West Virginia, Hamric draws artistic influence from the rocks and rills of the land but always with an eye toward the sky and head in the clouds. Musical styling of folk, country, blues, and classic rock infiltrate his songs, creating an Americana act tied to roots while innovating and original. Whether alone with his guitar or riding the sound waves with his stellar musical partners, he searches for a fresh approach each time a song is performed.

Beginning in 2015, the sound of the original compositions filled out as fellow local musicians and friends began performing with Hamric at gigs in and around Morgantown, WV. The full group is anchored by the rock-n-roll electric bass guitar of Chris Baker, buoyed by the definitive beats of Mike Arbogast on drums/percussion, and set alight by the virtuosity of Jim Bidwell’s lead guitar. The complete experience is a fun exploration of sound, story, and soul, which bounces between aloof playtime and focused mindfulness.
